Almost 6 Months into Withdrawal

Wow I haven't posted here in a long time. I am glad to say I am doing good. My eczema is not completely gone and I do have minor flare ups here and there but I am so much better!!! I can sleep at night without needing any pills. I even got a JOB :D I am still using the CUREL ITCH DEFENSE lotion. I highly recommend it! My face does have some spots from where I had scratched off my skin. I have eyebrows lol I can also wear perfume and use shower scrubs without it making me itchy. I even went to the pool and was able to get in the water with minor itching. I know my TSW is not over yet. I always have the fear my eczema will get bad again out of nowhere like it did back in September :/ But for now I am ok. My eating habits are poor and I drink soda all the time. Maybe with summer right around the corner I will drink more water.

  1. Hey Francheska, I'm so happy you're doing well!

I'd like to ask for your advice - I'm currently on my 4th and a half week, only used mid-strenght topical steroid on my face (mainly cheeks and a bit around the eyes) and apart from having red, burning, dry and itchy cheeks and some hypopigmentation around my eyes (some light purple color, did you have this too) I'm not doing bad!

My question is - should I use mosturizing/relaxing/healing creams during the night? What's your experience?

Wish you the fastest healing and all the best to you and your family!

  2. By now you're nearing your seventh month..amazing!! The first months go by so slow by time really starts to fly once you get into it. Great to hear you are making improvements. Having a job will probably help too because at work your mind is constantly active, "distracting" you from the urges to scratch (this is why my eczema really mellows when school is in session). Keep on going on your TSW journey!! And don't worry too much about the diet thing I'd say. I think the easiest way to get through TSW is to get yourself as close to happy and comfortable as you can. Indulging in food def helps. :D
